Online updates, tweets, posts, uploads, @s, tags and comments have become an extension of the offline lives we lead. If trust is a relationship of reliance based on benevolence, competence, honesty and a prediction of those characteristics over face-to-face meetings, can the Internet expedite that process? This project seeks to answer how digital presence can strengthen trust in offline interactions through the curation of digital narratives.
The Net Effect is about the Internet, your network and the sum of your digital persona in one place. By performing a name search, one can aggregate the fragmented pieces of information and choose to add context or place relevance on key pieces of data. This Web tool helps the user to create an authentic representation so s/he can meet expectations and gain trust in offline relationships.
